Heidi Humbert was named vice president and chief audit officer in June 2015.
Humbert previously served as director – audit services for We Energies and Wisconsin Energy Corporation since 2002. Audit Services is a strategic function that helps the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. Humbert also provides objective evaluations to the board of directors’ audit and oversight committee on audit activity and the effectiveness of the company’s internal control initiatives.
Prior to joining the organization, she served as director - business services for Seeds of Health Inc. In 1996 and 1997, she served as business development and project manager for Auditforce, a firm offering accounting and internal audit services to a broad base of large companies. Humbert began her career at Kimberly Clark Corp., where she spent 15 years in a variety of management roles including operations audit manager and business financial manager. She was responsible for risk analysis, planning, scheduling, staffing and the execution of Kimberly Clark audit activity worldwide.
Humbert holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Carroll College, Waukesha, Wisconsin. She is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and has a Certificate in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA). Humbert co-chaired the first Institute of Internal Auditors regional conference held in Milwaukee, served on the boards of Agape Community Center and YMCA, is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and past chair of the Edison Electric Institute’s chief audit executive group.
