J. Patrick Keyes was named executive vice president of WEC Energy Group in June 2015, and president of the Michigan and Minnesota utility subsidiaries and the corporate services company in April 2016.
In this role, Keyes has responsibility for information technology, including cyber security, as well as business performance, strategic planning and supply chain for WEC Energy Group. He also has overall responsibility for the operations of Michigan Gas Utilities, Minnesota Energy Resources Corp., Upper Michigan Energy Resources Corp., and WEC Business Services LLC, the services company supporting WEC Energy Group.
Keyes was previously executive vice president and chief financial officer for WEC Energy Group, the same positions he held at Wisconsin Energy Corp., and its principal utility subsidiary, We Energies, since September 2012.
Prior to joining Wisconsin Energy in April 2011 as vice president and treasurer, Keyes amassed nearly 25 years of experience in the utility practice of Accenture and its predecessor organizations, Andersen Consulting and Arthur Andersen. During that time, he worked with more than 20 major utilities, providing expertise in the areas of smart metering, customer information systems, customer information management and utility customer operations.
A Milwaukee native, Keyes holds a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, in economics and a Master of Business Administration in accounting and finance from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Keyes serves on the board of directors for the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Foundation and Milwaukee Repertory Theater; he also serves on the Finance Committee for Marquette University High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
