Jon Czarnecki was named director — gas engineering and compliance in May 2025.

In this role, Czarnecki oversees the gas engineering and compliance functions for We Energies, Wisconsin Public Service, Peoples Gas, North Shore Gas, Michigan Gas Utilities and Minnesota Energy Resources. Czarnecki joined the Peoples Gas construction leadership team in late 2015 as director — project management and controls for the start of the PRP. He substantially matured those functions and was the point person for managing regulatory reviews and audits of PRP. He was named director — engineering in April 2019 and director — gas engineering in July 2022, adding Pipeline Integrity, Standards and Materials, and Wisconsin Compliance in May 2024.

Czarnecki previously worked for We Energies in Milwaukee, where he started as an associate engineer and worked his way up to operations manager. While at We Energies, he was responsible for the design, construction and project management of gas expansion and replacement, overseeing larger and increasingly complex projects along the way.

Czarnecki earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and completed the Executive Masters of Business Administration program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
